Thursday 7-12 Day 18

Start: Gillette, WY
End: Newcastle, WY
Scheduled Miles: 76
Actual Miles: 77.2

Not to much different today than in past days. Today I rode with Jodi and Mike and I seemed a bit off. Perhaps the century we did yesterday took a little more out of me than I thought. It sure felt good while I was riding though.

Landscape and terrain is much the same, but as I said before, the combinations are always changing making it new again. Hard to describe, but am still in awe of the scenery. (maybe it is just heatstroke?)

Got into camp in good time, by 1:00 and that was stopping for lunch at place called the Hop, just your basic burger joint, but the owners live next door, not half a world away.

Tomorrow should be fun, we cross into South Dakota, and a few of us are planning on going off route to see Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore. 82 miles are schedule for tomorrow, but going off route and thus unsupported I am planning like it will be a century ride with lots of big hills to climb. Plan for the worst, and hope for the best. Thus despite the state change, Cricket will have to go with the luggage tomorrow, he will miss the state change, and the monuments, but he is an extra few pounds I don't want to have to carry. I'll show him the pictures just like everyone else.
