Saturday 7-21 Day 27

Start: New Ulm, MN
End: New Ulm, MN
Scheduled Miles: 0
Actual Miles: 20.1

Slept in, did not get up till 6:30. Showered and re bandaged the wounds, then off for a ride.

I ride back to the "scene of the crime"for a few reasons; A: I don't want any gaps in the route I did not ride, B: Ya just gotta face it and get back on the horse, C: I needed to test the bike and myself to make sure I could still ride. After taking a few pics, of the various skid marks I left (I'll photo shop the circles and the arrows in later) I headed into downtown New Ulm. What a great little city. They were having their Bavarian Blast this weekend and many riders went and sampled the local cuisine.

I found a German bakery and bought a huge coffee cake to take back to campus to share. The rest of the day, I pretty much do nothing except watch other riders do bike maintenance. (I should be doing this too). I did go to church tonight, a Lutheran church. I biked there and when I came in the greeter looked at my helmet, and my bandaged arm and asked if the two were related. It was a nice service and the scripture was about the good Samaritan caring for the wounded traveler. Struck pretty close to home!

Tomorrow I will ride.
