Friday 6-29 Day 5

This is a rest day, but I still woke up at 5:30AM. Walked around campus for bit than settled into Starbucks with a coffee and read the paper for the first in 6 days. Was able to update the site with the first couple of days, but had some issues with saving, plus we are limited to only 1 hour at a time.

The university itself is very pretty, but a lot smaller than what I had expected. Lovely landscaping and a river runs through it.

Cleaned and and lubed the bike and checked the tires, found two minor cuts in the tire and removed a small piece of glass that had not worked its way in very far. Tomorrow I will carry a spare tire as well as spare tubes. Martins bike is working out just great!

Had lunch at Davids pizza with Mary and Karrie, a local pizza shop, Mary knew the owner who is a big cyclist himself and he came and sat down with us and we talked about different rides around the country we all had been in.

Lunch was so good I went back for dinner with a larger group of riders and had a calzone. It was so huge it could have fed at least three hungry bikers. Roamed around the area a bit, pretty much your typical strip streets with 7-11's and small restaurants.

Called it a night and went to bed.

Scheduled miles: 0
Actual Miles: 0 (but a whole lot of walking around)
